Developed with British Rail for driver only operation twenty years ago, Mirror Technology now has an extensive range with many new features to substantially reduce maintenance costs.

Versions are available to suit different platform lengths and layouts, weather conditions and signal clearance. Also various levels of vandal protection are offered.

However all DOO mirrors have several features in common. The mirror is curved horizontally to provide a real height wide-angle view and all units are internally heated to maintain a stable image. The actual mirror surface is usually made from acrylic plastic, which is specially coated by Mirror Technology to provide a bright, long lasting image.

For ease of maintenance the units can be provided with a cassette mirror/heater unit, which can be replaced in situ. If necessary the body can be hinged if access is limited.
